I’m sitting at my computer – as usual – with my music file set on random. As usual, the playlist is a bit odd, but that’s the way I like it. Even when I make a playlist myself, the selections, while not odd in and of themselves, make for an odd combination.
That’s what it’s called “random.”
Here’s what I am and have been listening to today, in the wee small hours between midnight and 5 a.m..
1. I Have A Dream – from the Mamma Mia soundtrack
2. Simple Gifts – Alison Krauss and Yo-Yo Ma
3. Ne Me Quitte Pas – Nana Mouskouri
4. Lonely Without You – Petra Berger
5. Still the One – Straight No Chaser
6. Two of Us – Aimee Mann & Michael Penn
7. All Those Days Are Gone – Jump Little Children
8. Desperado – Sarah Bolger

10. Khe Sahn – Cold Chisel
11. London Rain – Heather Nova
12. A Little Respect – Erasure
13. E Volentieri – Medieval Babes
14. Girl in the Tower – from Final Fantasy
15. Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies – Ian & Sylvia
16. A Me Manera – Il Divo
17. Get Over It – The Eagles
18. She Moved Through the Fair – Irish Airs
19. Fairy Dance – James Newton Howard
20. Sunday Kind of Love – Renee Olstead
21. Acid Queen – from Tommy (Broadway)
22. Roundabout – Yes
23. The World Is Not Enough – Garbage
24. Hells Bells – Dandy Warhols
25. You’re Aging Well – Dar Williams, Liz Phair, & Joan Baez
As I type this: Stairway to Heaven – London Symphony Orchestra
A quirky, eclectic mix keeps me awake and on my toes. Plus, a few sing-alongs are good for the soul.
Did I say “good?” They’re EXCELLENT.
