Music hath charms. . . .

I’m so glad my music reappeared. I was miserable without it. I don’t know where it was, but I’m happy it’s back. It’s almost three a.m. and I’m still up, burning cd’s for people.

I figured that as long as I was too stressed out to sleep, I might as well be up and doing something fun. I think this might be the longest stretch of blogging and reading blogs and writing and answering emails that I’ve ever done.

I’ve been listening to the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack, as well as the following playlist:

1. One More Minute – Authority Zero
2. By The Rivers of Babylon – Boney M
3. Mary Mac – Great Big Sea
4. Tennessee Waltz – Eva Cassidy
5. Pink Moon – Nick Drake
6. The Lonely Shepherd – Nana Mouskouri & Zamfir
7. Don’t Wait Too Long – Madeleine Peyroux
8. Sad Cowboy Song – The Red Elvises
9. Stairway to Paradise – Rufus Wainwright
10. Was My Brother in the Battle – Kate & Anna McGarrigle
11. Potato’s in the Paddy Wagon – The Folksmen
12. Diamonds and Rust – Joan Baez
13. The Anthem – Leonard Cohen
14. I Need You – Dan Bern
15. Amazing Grace – Three Irish Tenors
16. Utopian Sky – Jump Little Children
17. Three Little Words – DaVinci’s Notebook
18. Irish Medley – Nanci Griffith
19. Benedictus – Hayley Westenra
20. Edith Piaf Medley – Jeff Buckley
21. Killing Me Softly – Roberta Flack

As I write, now: Fingal’s Cave (Mendelsohn) and I’m loving it. When I was a little girl, this melody was in my beginning piano book.

Heaven knows I needed something to calm me down and help me sleep. I think it’s working. Good.

Tomorrow is another day. I made that up; it’s completely original. Uh huh, right.

There’s nothing on the calendar for tomorrow. Wonderful. I’ve had it with surprises. No more, please. **

How ironic that at the rheumatologist today, my blood pressure was better than usual. I think I’ll mute the telephone tonight. Tomorrow’s my day off and I’m sleeping IN.

**Unless you are Ed McMahon with an entourage.
