Run over to visit Tammy at Rantings of a Domestic Housewife! And then dash over to visit Dawn at Tiny Voices In My Head. Dawn nominated me for a ONE AMAZING MOMMA award, and Tammy chose my blog! Who woulda thunk it? Thank you so much, Tammy and Dawn. You are TWO AMAZING FRIENDS. I am truly honored. Wow.
It’s been a beautiful day today; I could see it through the windows. Temp was in the 80’s.
I gave two quizzes and a test today. As I watched my students diligently, if not happily, working away, I was reminded of something that happened back in the middle school, several years ago.
Next door to me, in the math room, the teacher’s edition had been swiped.
A few days later, a group of boys turned in their homework.
They were honestly shocked to discover that “answers will vary” was the wrong answer.
Athletic desperation will drive some kids to academic desperation.
The really funny (not so funny) part of this story is that their parents were furious that this answer was not counted right. It said so right in the teacher’s book, didn’t it?
Right in the back of the teacher’s book! Where the answers were! Right in the back of the teacher’s book it said, for this assignment, “answers will vary.” So why wasn’t it counted right? It was IN THE BOOK that way!
Which book?
The TEACHER’S BOOK! You know, the one that had been stolen. . . . .
Whoops.
